We are entering our 5th week of socially isolating in our homes to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve. Among many things, COVID-19 has brought with it a crisis of loneliness that is affecting us all.
In an effort to broaden your digital horizons during this crisis, we challenge you to consider joining a social network or signing up for a video conferencing tool. If you know a friend or family member that is particularly struggling with loneliness, challenge them to do the same.
Social networks and communication tools that we think could be of benefit, linked to how to signup:
– Facebook (Social Network)
– Instagram (Social Network)
– Twitter (Social Network)
– Zoom (Video Communication)
Every social network has its pros and cons, but this period of social isolation must force us to be creative in our communication methods. If you have a question or concern about technology and media, please feel reach out to our providers.
In this period of uncertainty, we feel it is vital to communicate to you in as many ways as possible. Our practice is unique in that we have always prioritized communication with patients in multiple ways (Email, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube), something few practices do. Telehealth visits are a vital tool to ensure that all families’ safety is protected when indicated. Please welcome friends and family that do not have telehealth / virtual visits available at their practice to join WMPEDS.
Thank you for your efforts. Please stay safe and healthy!
