With the rise in measles worldwide including New York City and a single known case in Massachusetts, we want to give you these handouts to read on the signs and symptoms. Any child who has a single dose of the MMR is most likely fully protected. It is kids under 12 months that are the most vulnerable. Signs and symptoms are:
- Runny nose
- Conjunctivitis with no pus just red eye
2-4 days later
Fever as high as 104 or 105
A rash over the next few days, the rash spreads down the arms and trunk, then over the thighs, lower legs, and feet and can fade very rapidly.
If you suspect your child has measles please call us first do not go to an ER or urgent care as it is highly contagious.
