Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) work alongside our physicians and act in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide primary care services to patients and their families. NP care is characterized by an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, and involves the diagnosis and management of common acute illnesses/injuries and stable chronic diseases.

Nurse Practitioners are graduates of advanced degree programs. NPs may order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, and provide pharmacological agents, treatments, and non-pharmacological therapies. Education and counselling patients and their families regarding healthy lifestyle behaviors are key components of NP care.

The NPs at Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics play an active and vital role in providing such primary care service to our patient community.
