Alyssa received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. She attended Simmons College for her Masters in Social Work and is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Alyssa currently works at Simmons College as an adjunct professor in their Master of Social Work Program.
Alyssa has worked with children and families in a variety of settings including Boston Children’s Hospital with the Emergency Psychiatry Service and CBAT program, McLean-Franciscan Child and Adolescent Inpatient Program, Malden High School’s Pathways Program, and Boston Emergency Service Team. In her previous work, she has engaged children and adolescents in individual, group and family therapy using a variety of techniques including CBT, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and music therapy. Alyssa has experience working with children and families in acute crisis as well as providing support for children and adolescents coping with behavioral health concerns such as anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar disorder and a variety of social stressors. She is excited to be joining the Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics team and looks forward to working with children and families within the practice.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys music (playing piano, ukulele, and singing), running road races and going for walks with her dog, Bruin.
