Coughs – When to Worry (Video)

In this video, Dr. Hartman discusses when to worry about a child with a cough. In general, we worry about a cough when it starts to interfere with your child’s quality of life. Please call us for any cough that:

1) occurs with more than 96 hours of persistent fever

2) causes missed days of school (or missed days of work for parents)

3) results in more than a few nights of interrupted sleep

4) lasts longer than 4 weeks

5) has a fever develop at least 4-5 days after the cough begins
